At the heart of a huge maritime pine forest, the asparagus of the sands of the Landes is cultivated away from the sun to preserve its whiteness. The quality of the local sand gives uncommon asparagus and very low bitterness. The Asparagus of the Landes Sands thus has benefited, since 2005, from a IGP (protected geographic indication) rewarding the know-how of Landais ASPARAGEURS on this exceptional terroir.

Each year, on May 1, this vegetable is in the spotlight with the Asparagus festival in Pontonx-sur-l'Adour. Come and re-discover it through a market of producers welcome to the farm, culinary entertainment and tastings and of course asparagus visit. Enjoy a meal in the covered arenas, admire the pan with the brotherhoods and taste a giant asparagus omelet in the church plain.
