Livia De Poli was born in 1948 in Conco, a small town in Veneto renowned for its ceramics. She began working at the age of fourteen in the Erma workshop in Bassano del Grappa in the province of Vincenza. She follows the courses of the Instituto artistico de Nove. Settled in Franche-Comté in 1975, Livia de Poli continues her quest with more angular and refined works where the explosion of colors gives way to a monochrome disturbed by a few touches of red.
The Museums of Belfort are offering the first major retrospective of the work of this artist, who is as discreet as she is sympathetic. Paintings, drawings, colored or white ceramics give an insight into the creation of Livia de Poli, between formal perfection and the expression of a sensitive inner self.
