The shed, Space for contemporary art at the University of Lausanne, presents its new Oyendau exhibition to you, Made by artist Vanessa Udriot and commissioned by Dorina Mazreku. Through this exhibition, Vanessa Udriot explores the social and cultural situation of the Charrúas, Uruguayan native people victim of colonial exterminations during the 19th century. Since then, These people are considered extinguished by national historical discourses. Through his work, The artist is interested in groups who claim to be the descendants of the Charrúas. The latter demand the resettlement of the cultural identity of their people. Between photography and sculpture, Vanessa Udriot uses the mediums of the visual arts in order to materialize and celebrate memory: memories, forgetting, And the cultural imagination.


The opening will take place Wednesday April 5 at 6 p.m. in the Cabanon space (Ant 1129), Level 1 anthropolitis building, Chamberonne Unil district, 1015 Lausanne. It will be followed by an aperitif.
