After a first EP that the Dutch music magazine Oor describes as "collection of beautifully elaborate pop songs" in 2018 in 2018, A first place at the Studio Brussel Nieuwe Lichting competition in early 2019, and a program loaded for summer festivals, Mooneye is ready for Big Job.
Michiel Libberecht and his group spent a year in the studio with the best producers Pieterjan Maertens (Tamino) and Jo Francken (Het Zesde Metaal) to work on a suite at their first EP. A sequel that pushes even further the bewitching guitar sound of Mooneye, While allowing to put even further forward the singer-songwriter Michiel Libberecht.
Comparisons with Fleet Foxes and Neil Young are common but it is undeniable that Mooneye has no equal to mix folk, Rock and indie pop. This is shown 'Bright Lights', The very happy first single of the new album. However, the group has not abandoned its dark shades that are just as characteristic. Just listen "Fix the Heater", The second single, which is manifestly more nervous. A case of sudden schizophrenia? No, It's Mooney.
Their first album will be released this fall via Mayway Records and will be presented during the tour.
