*Agreement of the vortex*

Composers ’Next Generation 2023

Discussion and listening proposed by the Vortex ensemble

Every two years, The Vortex ensemble invites young artists and puts themselves at their service. During a series of residences, The new generation can experiment at leisure the many connections between acoustic and electronic instruments. The discussion provided for as part of an archipelago corresponds to the fence of the first meeting and makes it possible to present the work sketches, As much as to evoke the motivations that lead to the creation of a work.

Pierre Bastien and Louis Laurain

CNT - Swiss creation

Pierre Bastien and Louis Laurain like to play. Their project is initiated from an acronym with multiple meanings: CNT can be the abbreviation of Cornet to Piston, that the shortcut for confederación nacional del trabajo, Spanish libertarian union. CNT is therefore, they say, "A group of two humans who play the piston cone, Music instrument commonly and barely improperly called trumpet ". They work together to make it polyphonic, harmonic, noise ... here, no medieval or military ringtone, but rather an orchestra, With its rhythms struck and its bass chalcted. Because Louis and Pierre play the trumpet with four hands, And sometimes even without the mouth.

*Reorienting orients*

Asma Ghanem: Sonic War

Alireza Mashayekhi: Panoptikum 70, Op. 27 / Shur, Op. 15

Asma Ghanem, Palestinian sound and multidisciplinary artist, Addresses sound as a means of reflection on music and the experience it implies. Her electronic and vocal work refers to the environment in which she lives and creates, her social reality and her imaginary ramifications of which she makes a distended image, Suspended in slowness likely to release distracting abstractions.

The two works of Alireza Mashayekhi, Iranian electroacoustic music pioneer, unfold on the ancestral canvas of Persian music. His ritual folk frame remains readable, According to electroacoustic treatments and overlays which the composer uses to decontextualize while preserving his traditional melodies.

Every evening at 10:30 p.m., The listening salon offers a concert that combines a sound creation and the resonance dissemination of historical pieces or curiosities escaped from the vast repertoire of electroacoustic music.
