Hambye's canvases, Local 19th century production saved from oblivion.
In 1820, Local craftsmen start the manufacture of painted linen canvases which quickly become popular in the surroundings. These canvases, Designed to dress the alcoves beds also brighten up the interiors by their very colorful appearance.
Production lasts about 50 years and fails to fall into oblivion thanks to a few enthusiasts. Today, A remarkable collection of twelve canvases is exhibited in the Salle de la Porterie at the Abbey.
