Jean Gody, Unmissable figure of religious painting in Martigues, would have produced in 1679 a painting for the master altar of the Chapel of the Annunciade. This work, today in the center of the altarpiece, illustrates an iconographic theme of predilection in Martigues during this period: the Annunciation.
April 04: Michel Daret "The Virgin imploring Christ for the souls of Purgatory".
Initially made for the island church, This painting was offered a second life in Saint-Louis d'Anjou after its restoration. Now attributed to Michel Daret, Son of the famous Baroque artist Jean Daret, It represents a recurring theme of the period, The souls of Purgatory.
