Son of small farmers from Brécey in the South Manche, Jean-Yves Desfoux has made all his career in photojournalism. He started as a freelancer for the largest press agencies (Reuters, France Media Agency, Associated Press etc…) at the end of the 1970s and was recruited in 1985, In the professional staff of daily reporters "Ouest-France". For 35 years he will cover major news on our region.


Today retired near Granville, He travels Normandy to present thematic photographic exhibitions on the major events of the 2000s in Normandy.

In parallel with these exhibitions, He leads educational workshops in schools to tell schoolchildren behind the scenes of his reports and bring them keys to better understand press photos: "I love this work of transmission, This contact with the young generation, share my passion and, In this world of images, Help them better understand the work of a reporter and the meaning of a press photograph. »»
