Gilda Solve and Michel Pastre in Quintet

Gilda Solve and Michel Pastre in Quintet

Organized by the Rotary Club de Sens

Gilda Solve is an American singer born in San Francisco whose parents were opera singers. She begins very young from classic and modern musical studies and obtains the “Bachelor of Arts” diploma. She learns not only song but also the piano, Dance and theater. After singing on the music of Duke Ellington, Miles Davis or Chick Corea she renews us to the great standards of jazz. It now offers a more modern harmonic and rhythmic approach to the colors of California.

She now lives in France and received the Revelation Prize at the JUAN-LES-PINS International Competition twenty years ago.

We are enthusiastic about his impeccable vocal technique, Its communicative energy shared with the public and its natural charm.

She is accompanied by one of the best French tenors saxophonists the talented Michel Pastre a great admirer of a Count Basie. He created his own training courses and his abundant discography has often been awarded that he occurs in Big Band or Quintet.

The quintet is completed by the much appreciated pianist Philippe Martel that we no longer present the rhythm being ensured by the complete and accomplished double bass player Frédéric Debraine as well as by the drummer but also trumpeter and singer of American and Vietnamese origin Jean-Pierre Derouard who occurs both in trio and in Big Band or in a symphonic orchestra.
