A missed education is a pocket opera composed by
Emmanuel Chabrier on a booklet by Eugène Leuterrier and Albert
Vanloo in 1879.
Gontran de Boismassif has just married Hélène de La Cerisaie, it's here
wedding night. Gontran knows that he must do "something" with his
woman during this night, But he has no idea! This is panic!
He then called on his preceptor Maitre Pausanias responsible for him
Teach everything that a man should know. Our three characters
will therefore spend the night despite the decency, gallantry and modesty
To try to fill this lack of the education of Gontran.
This pocket opera is a real musical farce. In our minds,
The farce must speak of a company fact and make it mockery
In order to provoke by laughter and joy, A reflection around the subject.
It is based on the difficulty of talking about the intimate between generation,
In education and within a couple. It is all the more difficult
in a world where a man must be "virile, learned, proud, strong and
gallant ", and where the woman must be "submissive, pure and ignorant ”.
We then wonder about what our characters must
defeat to be able to move forward!
