Philippe Van Snick | Dynamic Project

Exhibitions Arts Cultures-Philippe Van Snick | dynamic project

Dynamic Project explores the protean work of Philippe Van Snick (Ghent, 1946 - Brussels, 2019). The exhibition presents itself as a circle focused on the artist's struggle with the complexity of life and the world. We see both flagship works as well as less known works. Like a musical suite, The exhibition gives color and stamp to unclassifiable production.
Van Snick's work is constantly embroidered on a changing system that is mathematical but also poetic. The decimal system (0-9) and the coherent palette of 10 colors inaugurate its artistic project, in which the artist uses the system as an alibi for the production of an infinity of possibilities.
The work of Philippe Van Snick does not present abrupt stylistic fractures, But is made of a meandering process of reflection in which its intentions become visible. His works are characterized by a personal note, An artistic gesture posed and the echo of fragility. Special attention is paid to the intimate living environment of Van Snick: his garden and his house in France, Its always fascination for nature and its beautiful structures and cycles. He combines these elements instinctively and throws bridges between them with geometric interventions.
Dynamic Project shows its first sculptural analyzes and explorations of time and space based on mathematics. Photos and conceptal short films are also presented. The exhibition also dwells on the later meeting of Van Snick with the color. Color like Ready-Made, But at some point also as a mixture, as a metaphor for doubt and vulnerability. Color as an independent expression of space.
Philippe Van Snick's artistic production also includes many innovative artistic projects in public space.
