From the half of the 19th century, The place of percussion within the orchestras has evolved considerably. At the request of Isaac Stern, Léonard Bernstein composes his serenade, A concerted violin and orchestra work, Inspired by the Plato banquet. Rodion Shchedrin, on the other hand, writes the Carmen suite to allow his wife, The large ballerina maya foldskaya, to realize his dream of embodying the famous gypsy.
