As part of the Czech Presidency of the EU, The exhibition "Design and transformation. Histoires du Design Czech 1990-2020" presents the Czech Republic as a place where beneficial innovations are born in an international context and where specific local traditions are also preserved and valued.
The exhibition explores the selected projects of thirteen successful companies which reflect the upheavals of Czech history and whose products are known far beyond the borders of the Czech Republic, like the international automaker Škoda and the furniture producer Ton, as well as other young companies. The exhibition will also pay tribute to more traditional Czech fields, like glassware.
A presentation of the Academy of Arts, Prague architecture and design will accompany the exhibition with a video projection on the facade of Prague house in Brussels.
Initiative organized by: Umprum - Academy of Arts, Prague architecture and design, In collaboration with the Moravian gallery in Brno and the Design Museum Brussels.
