Erik Truffaz was born in 1960. He grew up in the country of Gex, Region where Voltaire traded with ideas. From the age of 8, He discovers the scene alongside his Saxophonist father. At 14, He electrifies his trumpet by buying a Wah-Wah pedal. He repeats with friends in a dark and promising cellar. In 1978, He particularly loves to do the dishes while listening to Ornette Coleman. In 1987, He plays in Montreux with the Brazilian group Cruteiro do Sul, Then he flies to New York. In 1993, He won the jury prize at the Defense Competition of the City of Paris. From 1996 to 2008, He releases 12 albums under the famous Blue Note label, 4 of which are composed and made with the Truffaz Quartet. From 2003, Erik performs with the Harald Hearter Band, Alongside Joe Lovano, Dewey Redman, Chris Potter and Mickaël Breacker… who compares him to Roy Hargrove. From concerts to recordings, Erik Voyage in Paris, Montreal, Benares, Calcutta, Mexico (…) and feeds on world music, rap, Drum’n Bass. He collaborates with Didier Lockwood, Richard Galliano, Christophe, The Lille National Orchestra, Oxmo Puccino, Rokia Traoré, Murcof, Talvin Singh ... in 25 years of a rich career, He recorded 20 albums.

At the request of the Angoulême Film Festival, Erik Truffaz decides to revisit major themes of French cinema, In the company of his accomplice Marcello Giuliani and the musicians Giani Caserotto, Alexis Anerilles and Raphaël Chassin.
