On November 17, 2018, Mathieu Reusens died of the effects of a brain tumor. He was 29 years old.

In his memory, the Mathieu Reusens Fund arose in his memory. The Fund wants to offer Financi & Euml; le support in research into brainstem and brain tumors. A collaboration was set up for this with the University Fund of KU Leuven and with Prof. dr. Dr. Johan Menten (KU Leuven).
Mathieu was a great artificial lover, Also gifted violinist. With & lsquo; les vendredis & rsquo; Refuge Jan Decleir and the Ensor string quartet one of the last performances that Mathieu attended.

St. Petersburg, 1850. Every Friday evening M.Bela & Iiuml; EV, wealthy wood trader and amateur violinist, In his palace a colorful group of music lovers for composing and making music. Elegant men and women flatter themselves in sofa & rsquo; s, Persian pillows and love seats. They surrendered to musical gems, delicious food, Sweet words and gossip! The Ensor String Quartet brings these evenings back to life. Jan Decleir is responsible for the gossip and the beautiful words.

Jan Decleir reads from the De & Lsquo district; Nevski Prospect & Rsquo; (one of the most famous streets from St-Petersburg) by N. Gogol, A story that breathes this atmosphere. He makes a new story of it with the renowned musicians of the Ensor String Quartet. In between, the Ensor String Quartet Russian Salon plays pieces that were specially composed for this occasion.
