It will naturally be difficult - for those who heard the Count "Himself" at Victoria Hall there are some chandeliers - not to be moved to see that the history of "Kid from Red Band" continues (almost) as If nothing had happened! But Basie's music is so characteristic, with its delicious pianistic innuendo, its flamboyant tutti of brass and saxophones and its rhythmic section with swinging guitar, that it would be a shame not to prolong the spirit of Kansas City wire of time. It is this orchestra that should take care of the nighttime time at summer time with "One O’Clock Jump" every year.
