Between cultural mix and identity heritage, Amadou and Mariam are emblematic figures of the African and international musical landscape. In a large brewing, they energize genres while remaining faithful to their Malian roots. They play with renowned musicians (Manu Chao, M, Tiken Jah Fakoly, Keziah Jones, Akon ...), ahead of Barack Obama at the Coachella festival, or in South Africa for the opening of the Football World Cup. Their 8th studio disc, entitled The confusion (2017), is a return to the essentials. With the ethno-futuristic approach of Adrien Durand (good organization organization) and the expertise of the American sound engineer Jimmy Douglas-4 Grammy Awards (The Weeknd, Rolling Stones, Bjork, Aretha Franklin ...), < EM> The confusion travel between the Bambara and the French on music with chalcted swinging: Dance of Burkina, "West Coast" sounds, Afro-Cuban pierced, or Afro-Beat hedonist with "house" accents. This album revives the heritage of hotel orchestras, so characteristic of Africa. And sets fire to the dance-flow.

The opinion of the artistic director
African music, Pop, Latin sounds, electric guitars, Percus, electro beats ... Difficult to classify this duo in a category. At the end, there remains the trip. And an energy that is good. We love it!
