Maria Ceppi in the collection of the Museum of Art of Valais The protean work of the Valais artist Maria Ceppi (*1963), born in viège and trained in art schools in Sion and Paris, is deployed to various scales , from work to paper to monumental installation. For 25 years, the Museum of Art of Valais has retained a selection of its work, which highlight its exploratory and experimental approach.
In 1985, she presented her first exhibition at the Valais Museum of Art and obtained in 2019 a Valais ArtPro Bourse for her “Revisited” project: it allowed him to carry out the Karmin sculpture, acquired by the Museum of Art. From the beginnings of his career, by using materials as diverse as soap, wool, metal or plastic, the artist is inspired by daily life to invent new language, strange and full of Humor, which tells stories at the crossroads of nature and artifice, singular and collective.
